ICIS 2024-Summer I Special Sessions

Workshop 1: Smart Factories and Communication

All authors must submit their papers directly to the special Session/Workshop Organizers.

Topic Description

Smart factories refer to the implementation of advanced technologies and automation systems in manufacturing facilities to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency. These factories leverage technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), big data analytics, and robotics to enable seamless communication and coordination between various components of the manufacturing process.

In a smart factory, communication plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and effective collaboration among different entities. This includes communication between machines, devices, sensors, and humans. The key objective of communication in smart factories is to enable real-time data sharing, decision-making, and control to achieve higher productivity, quality, and agility.
